Ruger No. 1-B
Item Description
The stock blank alone on this Ruger No.1-B was estimated by a rifle specialist to be worth $2500.00. Then it was fit, finished, and checkered by master stock maker; Bill Marsh of Idaho Falls, Idaho. The checkering is cut, one line at a time by hand, 28 lines per inch, and close inspection of the pictures will show you perfection, all the way around. In addition; we are unable to see that this rifle has ever been fired as the barrel and throat show no signs of wear under a borescope. We also have the original Ruger box the rifle was shipped in, 1" scope rings, and the manual but the hang tags were not retained. There is, if you look closely, a small amount of damage to the screw hole on the bottom of the forend and on the grip cap but we believe a competent stock maker could repair it. We are going to pay the shipping on this one as we want to ship it fully insured and double boxed and so it is going to be expensive. The barrel is 26" long and the rifle weighs 7.74 pounds and has a length of pull of 13.375".
